Eligibility Criteria

Age (As on 01-01-2022)::
  • Minimum:    20 years
  • Maximum:   28 years
  • i.e. A candidate must have been born not earlier than 02-04-1994 and not later than 01-04-2002 (both dates inclusive)

  • Graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government

  • A candidate must be -
    • a Citizen of India
      OR
    • a subject of Nepal
      OR
    • a subject of Bhutan
      OR
    • a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently setting in India
      OR
    • a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

  • Note: Candidates other than permanent citizens of India must get an eligibility certificate approved by the Government of India in their favor.
Number of Attempts:
  • There is no limit in the number of attempts that one can appear for the SBI Clerk exam.

Pattern

  • The SBI Clerk 2022 selection process will consist of two online tests (preliminary & main examination) and a test of specified opted local language.
Preliminary Exam
  • SBI CLerk Preliminary Examination (online) consisting of Objective Tests for 100 marks will be conducted online. This test would be of 1 hour duration consisting of 3 Sections as follows:

    1.  Each test will have separate timing as mentioned above.

    2.  There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Objective tests. 1/4th of the mark assigned for the question will be deducted for each wrong answer.

    3.  No minimum qualifying marks for the individual subjects as well as for aggregate (overall) are prescribed.

    4.  The adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by the Bank (approximately 10 times the numbers of vacancies. subject to availability) will be shortlisted for the Main Examination from the list of all candidates arranged in descending order of aggregate marks scored.

Mains Exam
  • The structure of the main examination (online objective type) would be as follows:

    1.  Each test will have separate timing as mentioned above.

    2.  The questions in objective tests, except for the test of General English, will be bilingual i.e., English & Hindi. There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Objective tests. 1/4th of the mark assigned for the question will be deducted for each wrong answer.

    3.  Candidates are required to score minimum percentage marks on aggregate (For SC/ST/OBC/PWD/XS candidates, 5% relaxation available thereon).

    4.  Minimum qualifying marks on aggregate will be decided by the bank.

    5.  No minimum qualifying marks for individual subjects are prescribed.

    6.  Merit list will be drawn State wise, category wise.

    7.  Candidates qualified in the test (main examination) will be placed according to their aggregate marks in descending order in respective States and Categories.

Mains Exam
